Refer & earn
Introduce a business to Smart Business Book and earn a share of what it pays. Open it from search (Ctrl+K, type refer) or from your account menu (your initial, top right).
What you earn
When a business you referred subscribes and pays, you earn a share of its first subscription term:

Commission is paid on the 15th of each month, once 30 days have passed since the customer's payment cleared. Balances under USD 20 carry forward to the next month.
What could you earn? — the calculator on the page shows an estimate for the number of businesses you expect to refer and their monthly plan price.
Becoming a partner
Fill in your name, email, phone and how you plan to introduce SBB, accept the referral partner agreement, and press Apply to become a partner. A person reviews every application, usually within two working days. While you wait, you can already set up how you want to be paid.
Getting paid
How you get paid shows four steps:
- Choose how you want to be paid — Mobile money or Bank account.
- Add the details: the network, number and registered name, or the bank, account name and number.
- Add your TIN, for the withholding tax certificate.
- We confirm your details with you by phone.
Choose the currency you want to be paid in. Your details are shown back partly hidden. For your protection, any change to where money goes is confirmed with you by phone again before a payout uses it. Changing only your TIN does not need a new confirmation.
Sharing
Share your link gives you:
- your link and your code — people can also type the code when they sign up;
- ready-made messages — Friendly, Short, Kiswahili, and For clients (for accountants and advisers) — which you can edit;
- one tap to send by WhatsApp, SMS, email, Facebook or LinkedIn, or Copy message;
- a QR code, with Download QR for a counter sign, a flyer or a workshop slide.
A referral counts when a genuinely new business signs up within 90 days of clicking your link. If two partners introduce the same business, the first one keeps it.
Your links
Create a link for each place you share — "Kikuubo traders WhatsApp", "Workshop flyer" — and choose the page it opens: the home page, the sign-up page, Till & point of sale, For accountants, or Video lessons. The table shows each link's clicks, signups and conversion, so you can see which pitch brings businesses in.
- Click a link's name to rename it.
- Pause a link you no longer use; clicks on a paused link stop counting. Turn on brings it back.
- You can have up to 20 links, and at least one always stays active.
What your sharing is doing
For the last 7, 30 or 90 days: clicks, signups and first payments, with conversion rates, and a daily chart of clicks with the days that brought signups marked.
Businesses you referred
Each referral with its status in plain words:
- Signed up — waiting for their first payment. The business is not named until it pays.
- Confirmed — commission counts on its payments in the first term.
- Term complete — its first subscription term has ended.
- Not eligible / Reversed — with the reason.
Your statement
Every commission line shows what the customer paid, the term, the rate and what you earn, with its status — Clearing (and the date it becomes payable), Ready, Paid or Void. A refund appears as a separate reversal line. Use Export CSV for a spreadsheet, or Statement in the top bar for a printable statement from Smart Business Book.
