Reports, printing and documents
Reports
Reports shows how the business is doing for a period — Today, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, Year, All or your own dates — compared with the previous period or the same period last year. Tabs:
- Summary — one sentence on your profit or loss and margin, the headline numbers and what changed, where the money came from, and your biggest costs.
- Profit & loss — a proper statement: revenue, cost of sales, gross profit, operating expenses under their headings with subtotals, and net profit — each line with its share of revenue, the comparison period and the change.
- Balance sheet — assets, liabilities and equity as at the end of the period, with net worth and a check that they balance.
- Cash flow — what money came in for and went out on, by category, plus each account's in, out and net.
- Trend — 6, 12 or 24 months of revenue, expenses and net profit, with your best and weakest month. Download CSV takes the months to a spreadsheet.
See what is behind a number
Click any underlined line — Transport, Sales — to see the transactions that make up that figure.
If some of your categories have no statement heading yet, a note says how much sits under Unclassified. Set headings in Full reports so gross profit and expense groups come out right.
At the top:
- Explain — asks Kiongozi what changed most in this period, why, and what to do about it.
- Share — see Sharing statements.
- Print — the statement on screen as a document on A4 with your letterhead, the comparison column and Prepared by / Approved by lines. Print all statements prints all three together. Choose Save as PDF in the print window for a file.
- Export CSV — every statement, subtotals included, for a spreadsheet.
Sharing statements
Share gives you two ways to hand your results to someone:
- A read-only link — for a bank, an investor, a grant officer or your accountant. They open your profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow with your business name, logo and TIN — no login and nothing they can change. Choose how long it works (7, 30 or 90 days), add a note such as "For the loan application", then copy it or send it by WhatsApp or email.
- The figures are frozen as they were when you made the link. Transactions recorded later do not change what they see.
- Links you have shared shows whether each link has been opened, and Withdraw stops a link working straight away.
- Only the owner or the accountant can create links.
- The headline numbers — revenue, gross profit, expenses, net profit and margin, and money in and out, ready to send by WhatsApp or email, or to copy.
Printing in Light
Every Print button in Light produces a proper document in its own window — never a picture of the screen with menus and buttons. Documents carry your business name, logo and TIN when set in Settings.

If nothing appears, your browser has blocked the pop-up — allow pop-ups for the site and press Print again.
Documents
Documents is your business's paperwork library.
- Views on the left: All documents, Private, Shared with accountant, From your accountant, Replies to requests — and your folders, each with a count.
- Search, filter by type (PDFs, Images, Spreadsheets, Documents, Other), sort, and switch between grid and list.
- Upload with the button, or drag files anywhere on the page (up to 20 MB each). Dropped into a folder view, they land in that folder. Press U to upload and / to search.
- Files are private until you share them with your accountant.
- On each file: Share / Unshare, Download, Rename, Move to a folder, Remove.
- If your accountant has asked for documents, the request appears at the top with a place to drop the files straight into it.
