Your Light home

The home answers one question: what do I do now? It loads in a single step and reads from top to bottom in the order you use it.

Today's numbers

At the top right:

• Money in today and Money out today, in your base currency. Under each is the change against the same weekday last week — "↑ 12% vs last Tue". Green means good news (more in, or less out); red means the opposite.
• In the bank — the total across your accounts. If you also hold other currencies, they are named underneath rather than added in, because shillings and dollars do not add up to one number.

Today starts at midnight where your business is, not in another time zone. Voided entries are never counted.

A small badge next to the date shows your recording streak once it is more than a day.

Ask Kiongozi

Type a question — or tell it what happened — and press Ask. The suggestions under the box change with your day: Who owes me money? appears when invoices are overdue, Why is today slower than last week? when it is. Kiongozi opens on the right with your question already sent. See Kiongozi in Light.

The things you do every day, one tap each:

• Money coming in — Sell at the till, New invoice, Record a payment
• Money going out — Record an expense, Pay a bill, Buy stock, Pay staff
• Set up & look after — Products, Customers, Reports, Suppliers, Tax, Settings

Record a payment and Record an expense open the right form straight away.

Needs you

Shown only when something needs acting on — at most three things, such as overdue invoices, products out of stock, or sales not yet filed with URA. Each has a button that takes you to fix it.

Reminding customers on WhatsApp

Under invoices overdue, the three largest overdue invoices are listed with the customer, the amount and how late it is. Remind on WhatsApp opens WhatsApp with a polite reminder already written — the invoice number, the amount, how many days overdue — and a link the customer can use to pay. You only press send.

• If the customer has a phone number saved, the chat opens with them. Local numbers such as 0772 123 456 are given your country's code automatically.
• If not, the button says Remind (pick contact) and WhatsApp lets you choose who to send it to.
• The payment link lasts two weeks.

Last 7 days

Money in (green) and out (brown) for each of the last seven days, with the week's total and its change against the week before. Hover or tap a bar for the exact amounts. Reports → takes you to the full picture.

Recording streak

How many days in a row something has been recorded in your books, the last 14 days as a strip, and your best run.

• The streak counts back from yesterday until today's first entry, so a morning glance never shows a broken streak before you have opened for the day.
• When today is still empty, Sell and Expense buttons are right there.
• Any recorded entry counts — a sale, an expense, a payment.

Books kept every day are books that are right at month end. The streak simply makes the habit visible.

Latest activity

The six most recent entries by when they happened, with till sales marked. Tap one to open it. All transactions → opens the full list.

If you have been given access to one branch, the home shows that branch's money, accounts and activity only.
